By default, homepage is set to "homepage" channel that is created automatically during installation. You can change homepage to a landing page or another page from "admin > settings > general".
After installation homepage will be mostly blank. You can populate it by editing homepage channel from "admin > channels" and selecting the content that you want to appear on homepage.
